ingredients
3 tablespoons cooking fat
2 cups finely chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
1 pound ground beef
1 can (1 pound, 13 ounce size) peeled tomatoes
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
salt and pepper
1 package (8 ounce size) elbow macaroni
2 tablespoons margarine
grated Parmesan or sharp Cheddar cheese
directions
Heat fat in pan. Add onion, garlic and mushrooms; saute until onion becomes translucent. Add meat and stir until browned.
Add tomatoes, parsley and seasonings. Cover. Simmer about 45 minutes.
While meat is cooking, cook macaroni in boiling salted water, 7 to 10 minutes. Drain well. Toss in margarine.
Turn macaroni onto hot platter. Pour sauce over, then sprinkle with grated cheese.
