ingredients
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup water
1/3 cup chopped canned green chilies
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon cayenne or crushed red pepper
1 can (8 ounce size) tomato sauce
1 can (6 ounce size) tomato paste
3 1/2 cups water
directions
Saute onion and garlic in water for 5 minutes. Add green chilies and spices. Stir and saute a few more minutes.
Add remaining ingredients. Mix well and simmer for 15 minutes.
