Not to be confused with evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk is very sweet (and very sticky) and used primarily in desserts.

The seasonings are crucial for a successful crab boil. This is the perfect blend to spice up your seafood.
4 tablespoons yellow mustard seeds
3 tablespoons coriander seeds
2 tablespoons whole allspice
2 tablespoons dill seeds
1 teaspoon whole cloves
1 tablespoon crushed red pepper
8 bay leaves
Combine the mustard seeds, coriander, allspice, dill, cloves, crushed red pepper, and bay leaves in a square of cheesecloth. Tie tightly with butcher's twine or string.
This makes enough seasoning for 5 pounds of seafood plus add-ins like sausage, corn, potatoes, etc.
To use, bring water to a boil and add the spice bag. Let boil for 2-3 minutes then add your seafood and add-ins and cook as desired.
You can add cayenne pepper to the boiling water for a spicier boil.

Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.
The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.

Better than the packaged stuff!

I forgot to buy packaged crab boil mix when at the store (silly considering I was there to get all the ingredients for the crab boil!!). Decided to look online for a recipe instead of wasting gas and driving 20 minutes back to the store. This worked out great and I'll bet it was cheaper than buying the packaged stuff!

Best resipe ever! I made it with snow crab and king crab with lemon butter on the side. I can't wait to make it again, I just have to buy more crab next time cuz I ate it all. Perfect resipe come fall, with the allspice and cloves. Thank you!
