ingredients
Part One
1 pound ground beef
1 large onion
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 dash black pepper
1 can whole kernel corn, drained
1 can tomato soup
1 soup can water
Part Two
3/4 cup cornmeal
3/4 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 egg, beaten
1 teaspoon bacon drippings, melted
directions
Brown beef and onion in large skillet. Drain excess fat. Add other ingredients of Part One. Simmer for 15 minutes. Pour into large, greased baking dish.
Mix Part Two ingredients well and pour over top of Part One ingredients. Bake uncovered for 30-40 minutes at 350 degrees F.

Reminds me of a recipe my mom would make when we were kids. It had green beans in it along with the corn though and she used bisquick for the topping not the cornmeal. It tasted pretty close to what she made though.
