If basic over easy eggs sound like a boring breakfast, try this simple trick to jazz them up a bit.
1 tablespoon canola oil
3 eggs
1 teaspoon garlic powder, or more if desired
1 pinch salt
black pepper, to taste
Heat the oil in a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add the eggs. Cook until the whites are set then gently flip each one over to cook "over easy" or to the desired doneness.
When eggs are cooked, transfer to a plate. Sprinkle evenly with the garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Serve the over easy eggs immediately.
Over easy eggs are a type of fried egg where the yolk is cooked until it is soft, but not completely cooked through. The white is also cooked, but should be soft and runny. Over easy eggs are typically served with the yolk intact.
There are a few different stories about how over easy eggs got their name. One story says that the term came from restaurants in the early 1900s who would cook eggs over an open flame on a griddle. The cooks would turn the eggs over when they got a light brown color on one side, hence the term "over easy."
Another story says that the term originated with American soldiers in World War II. The soldiers would cook their eggs over a small flame, and when they were done, they would turn them over so that the yolks would be runny.
Whatever the origin of the term, over easy eggs are now a popular way to enjoy this classic breakfast food.
There is no definitive answer to this question since it depends on the specific preparation of the eggs. Generally speaking, however, over easy eggs are safe to consume as long as they have been cooked properly. It is important to note, however, that there is a risk of salmonella poisoning associated with consuming raw or undercooked eggs.

Want to take this up a notch? Mix the garlic powder with a little melted butter and drizzle it over the cooked eggs. I discovered this by accident while making these eggs as I had some melted butter from another reacipe I was making for breakfast and decided to see how it would taste. Amazing.
