The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.

These minty ice cubes are perfect in iced tea or cocktails. They add a little color to the drink and release a light fresh mint flavor as they melt.

Thoroughly wash the mint leaves. Place one leaf (or two if they are small) in each section of an ice cube tray.
Add enough water to just fill the ice cube tray sections and place the tray in the freezer until frozen solid (about 3-4 hours usually).
Add the festive ice cubes to drinks or cocktails.
