Slow Cooker Pork Chops With Apples And Brown Rice

ingredients
4 thick sliced pork chops
2 apples, cored and sliced into rings
1 cup brown rice
1 onion, diced
1 teaspoon parsley
1 stalk celery, diced
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup hot water
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
directions
Mix together the rice, onion, parsley, celery, salt, water, and chili powder in the crock pot until well mixed.
Place the apple rings on top of the rice.
In a skillet over medium heat, brown the pork chops on both sides in a little oil (or non-stick cooking spray). Place the pork on top of the apples.
Cover crock pot and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until pork is tender and cooked through and rice is done.

Rice got a little mushy but it wasn't bad (pork was done in 5 hours so that's when I stopped cooking it). It overall had really good flavor. Seems like recipes with rice or pasta just don't quite turn out as well as using a dry heat but it was good enough as we're not picky eaters.
