Swedish Meatballs, Texas Style

ingredients
1 1/2 pound ground beef
1 1/2 pound ground pork
3 cups soft bread crumbs
1/2 cup milk
2 eggs, beaten
1 onion, chopped
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground sage
salt and pepper
4 tablespoons bacon drippings or vegetable oil
2 cans mushroom soup
1 cup sauteed mushrooms
directions
Mix all except last three ingredients and form into 1 inch balls. Brown them in bacon drippings. Remove to baking dish.
Make mushroom gravy in skillet by adding mushroom soup. Pour gravy over the meatballs; bake 1 1/2 hours at 325 degrees F.
When ready to serve add mushrooms to meatballs and gravy; serve over rice or noodles.
