What better flavor to capture summer than fresh melon, and what better way than gelato to make it into a warm-weather treat. These colorful scoops are ultra-easy in the ice cream maker.

ingredients

1 1/2 pound fresh-cut cantaloupe, honeydew or watermelon, seeds removed
2 cups water
1 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice

directions

Combine the melon, water, sugar, and lemon juice in food processor. Process until thick and smooth.

Transfer the mixture to the ice cream maker canister and process according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Store the gelato in an airtight container in the freezer.
