- #89184
1-2 hrs
ingredients
4 pounds beef bottom round roast
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon paprika
directions
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Place the roast fat side up on a roasting rack that has been coated with nonstick cooking spray. Place the rack in a large roasting pan.
In a small bowl, combine the remaining ingredients; mix well. Rub the spice mixture over the entire roast, covering completely. Roast for 30 minutes.
Reduce the oven to 300 degrees F. and continue roasting the beef until a meat thermometer registers 150 degrees F. for medium-rare, or until desired doneness beyond that.

Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.
