The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.

ingredients
1 cup flour
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup butter or margarine
4 cups fresh or canned fruit or berries, drained
1 cup fruit juice
directions
Mix the dry ingredients with the milk and vanilla until smooth.
Melt butter in a 8" x 10" baking pan. Pour batter over melted butter. Place the fruit over batter. Pour the fruit juice over the top.
Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 30-35 minutes until light brown.
