ingredients
1 cup sliced green onion
2 cloves garlic, chopped finely
2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger
OR
1/2 teaspoon powdered ginger
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
3 pounds fresh tomatoes, peeled, seeded and coarsely chopped
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes
2 tablespoons fresh cilantro chopped
1 teaspoon Oriental sesame oil
8 ounces hot cooked pasta
directions
In a large skillet, saute green onion, garlic and ginger in vegetable oil for 1 minute.
Add tomatoes, soy sauce, sugar, salt and red pepper flakes. Cook over medium high heat, crushing tomatoes with the back of a spoon and stirring frequently, about 10 to 15 minutes or until sauce thickens.
Stir in cilantro and sesame oil. Toss with hot, cooked pasta.
