Frozen Stained Glass Cookies

ingredients
1 cup butter
1 cup confectioners' sugar, sifted
1 egg
2 1/2 cups flour, sifted
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 cup or more green and red candied cherries, drained
sifted confectioners' sugar
directions
Cream butter and sugar. Beat in egg. Stir in flour and cream of tartar. Stir in cherries.
Form into 1 1/2 inch rolls on wax paper lined with powdered sugar. Freeze.
Slice very thin while still frozen. Put on greased cookie sheet. Bake for 6 to 8 minutes at 375 degrees F.
