White Chili With Beer

ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves
3 cans (15 ounce size) navy beans (or great northern)
2 cans (14 ounce size) low sodium chicken broth
1 can (4 ounce size) green chilies, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
1 tablespoon cumin (or to taste)
1 tablespoon dried cilantro
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 can (12 ounce size) beer (your selection)
cornstarch (if necessary)
shredded cheese (optional)
directions
Cut chicken into bite size pieces or smaller. Dice onion. Saute chicken and onions together until cooked through. Add chili powder and cilantro.
Add mixture to chicken broth, green chilies, beans and cumin. Add beer. Season with salt and pepper. If it needs to be thickened, add a cornstarch mix. Heat to steam and then simmer for 30 minutes.

You may also place in a crock pot at this time and keep on low until ready to serve.
Top with shredded cheese if desired.
