Gourmet Almond Cake

ingredients
1/2 pound almond paste
1 1/4 cup sugar
1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
5 large eggs
1 cup sour cream
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
powdered sugar
directions
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease and flour a 9 inch springform pan.
In a food processor, combine the almond paste and sugar until well blended. Add in the butter. Add the eggs one at a time, processing until blended after each addition. Add the sour cream and extracts.
Spoon mixture into a large mixing bowl; set aside.
Sift the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Mix into almond batter until well combined. Spoon the batter into the springform pan.
Bake in center rack of the oven for one hour, or until the top is golden and springs back when touched. Remove from oven and let cool for 15 minutes.
Turn out onto a serving plate. Let cool completely. When cool, dust with powdered sugar.
