Tomato Soup Cake With Cream Cheese Frosting

ingredients
1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons shortening
2 eggs
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/2 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 can tomato soup
1 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon cloves
1 cup raisins
1 cup nuts
Light Cream Cheese Frosting
1 package (8 ounce size) cream cheese, room temperature
4 cups confectioners' sugar
1 tablespoon butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
directions
Cream sugar and shortening, add eggs, baking powder, and flour; mix well. Dissolve baking soda in can of soup and add to mixture. Blend in spices, raisins and nuts. Pour into cake pan and bake at 325 degrees F for 30-40 minutes.
For Frosting: Beat cheese until soft in a large bowl. Beat in the sugar a little at a time, then beat in the melted butter and vanilla. Continue beating until very light in texture. Frost as usual.
