ingredients
1/2 cup shortening
2 1/2 cups sifted flour
1 1/2 cup sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
directions
Put shortening, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in mixing bowl. Add 2/3 cup milk; beat.
Add balance of milk, eggs and vanilla. Beat well.
Pour into lightly greased and floured cake pan. Bake 25 minutes at 375 degrees F or until cake tests done in the middle.
