Slow Cooker Chicken And Sausage

ingredients
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 cloves garlic, crushed
1 medium onion, chopped
1 red bell pepper, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 small zucchini, chopped
1 can mushrooms
1 can stewed Italian tomatoes
1 can (6 ounce size) tomato paste
1/4 pound hot sausage
2 chicken breast halves
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
red pepper flakes, optional
directions
Heat oil in skillet. Saute onion and garlic until light brown; remove from pan. Add sausage and chicken to brown in the skillet. Drain and pat dry.
In crockpot combine all other ingredients together with the onions and garlic. Add the sausage then top with the chicken breasts. Cover and cook on low setting 6-8 hrs.

The only thing I do differently with this recipe is put the sausage on top of the chicken because I feel like it kinda keeps the chicken more moist. This is one of our favorite recipes.

This recipe is easy to prepare and very tasty.It is just as good when you omit the chicken. My husband likes this with just the sausage, vegetables, and some mozzarella cheese on hoagie buns during football season.
