Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
Not to be confused with evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk is very sweet (and very sticky) and used primarily in desserts.

I was looking for a recipe that had sour cream in it. I had to use up an out-dated half & half cream. I needed a recipe that baked in an 8" x 8" pan and baked in 30 min. After I took it out of the oven, I added semi-sweet chocolate chip and put the pan back into the oven for 2 more min. to melt with the oven off. YUMMY! This cake has the texture of brownies. The neighbors & we loved it. I will definately make it again and it is now on my favorites baking list.

Mine came out nice and dense. I added some chocolate chips to the top. It could use a tsp or so of vanilla to round out the flavor. Perfect cake fix and use for leftover sour cream though, thanks!

This cake was lovely. A really light, chocolate sponge. Hubby and daughter both asked for more!!
