A quick and easy way to make chocolate cake with zucchini added for texture along with chopped nuts and chocolate chips.

ingredients
1 box devil's food cake mix
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/3 cup oil
3 eggs
2 cups shredded, unpeeled zucchini
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour 9x13-inch baking pan.
In a mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, cinnamon, cloves, buttermilk, oil, and eggs. Beat on medium speed with an electric mixer. Add the zucchini. Beat for 2 minutes on high speed until the batter is well mixed.
Pour the cake batter into the prepared baking pan. Sprinkle the top of the batter evenly with the nuts and chocolate chips.
Place the pan in the oven and bake at 350 degrees F for 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle of the cake comes out clean.
Remove the cake from the oven and let cool in the pan for 1 hour, or until completely cooled. Frost as desired, or sprinkle with sifted powdered sugar. Store the cake in an airtight container.

This was so quick and easy to make. I didn't have buttermilk on hand so substituted 1/2 cup of yogurt. The cake was moist and delicious. We liked the subtle spice flavor. My niece asked for this recipe. We'll both be sure to make it again.
