ingredients
1 1/3 cup sifted flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup margarine, softened
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup prunes, cooked, pitted and chopped
1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
directions
Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon.
Cream margarine and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir in dry ingredients. Fold in prunes and nuts.
Spread evenly in a greased 9 inch square pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30-35 minutes. Cool slightly.
Cut into bars while warm. Dust with sifted confectioners' sugar, if desired.
