ingredients
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 1/4 cups crushed pineapple, drained
1 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
2 1/4 cups oats, quick-cooking
2 1/4 cups flour
1 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup butter, PLUS"PLUS" means this ingredient in addition to the one on the next line, often with divided uses
2 teaspoons butter

For Filling: Simmer first 4 ingredients over medium heat, until thick. Remove from stove and cool.
For Crust: Combine dry ingredients and cut in butter. Blend until crumbly.
Press 2/3 of the mixture firmly in a 9" x 13" pan. Add filling and sprinkle remaining crust over the filling.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes.
