ingredients
1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup cold butter or margarine
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 can (14 ounce size) sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated milk)
1 egg, beaten
1 1/2 teaspoon butter pecan flavoring
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/4 cup crushed chocolate covered English toffee candy bars
OR
3/4 cup almond brickle chips, PLUS"PLUS" means this ingredient in addition to the one on the next line, often with divided uses
1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped pecans
directions
In a medium bowl, combine flour and brown sugar. Cut in butter until crumbly.
Press firmly onto bottom of a greased 13 x 9 inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 15 minutes, then remove from oven.
In a medium bowl, combine remaining ingredients, mixing well. Spread evenly over baked crust.
Return to oven and bake 20-25 minutes longer or until golden. Loosen edges while still warm. Cool and cut into bars. Store covered in refrigerator.
