The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.

ingredients
1 pound light brown sugar
2 cups biscuit baking mix
4 eggs, beaten
2 cups chopped pecans
2 tablespoons vanilla extract
directions
Combine all ingredients in large bowl, mixing well. Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13 inch baking pan.
Bake at 325 degrees F for 35 minutes. Cool completely before cutting. Dust with confectioners' sugar.
