ingredients
1/2 cup margarine
1 cup sugar
1 egg, PLUS"PLUS" means this ingredient in addition to the one on the next line, often with divided uses
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/4 cup self-rising flour
Frosting
1 egg white
1 cup packed light brown sugar
chopped nuts

In the large bowl of an electric mixer, cream together the margarine and sugar. Beat in the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla. Add the flour, folding in by hand.
Spread the dough into a greased and floured 9" x 13" baking pan. Set aside and prepare the frosting.
Beat the egg white until it is stiff. Fold in the brown sugar. Spread the frosting over the cookie dough. Top with chopped nuts.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes. Let the bars cool in the pan, cut into bars and serve.
