- #4751

ingredients
1 pound boneless chicken breast
1 cup half and half
2 tablespoons white flour
1/4 cup chopped shallot
1 teaspoon thyme
1/4 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon parsley, chopped
1/2 teaspoon red pepper
2 cups fettuccini pasta
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon cooking oil
1/2 cup lemon juice
1 tablespoon butter
directions
Heat up oil slightly in a frying pan over a medium flame. Saute chicken breasts and shallots in oil for 5 minutes or until golden brown. Add lemon juice to chicken and cook for an additional 10 minutes. Remove chicken from flame. Save chicken stock. Transfer chicken into a casserole dish.
Melt butter in clean frying pan. Add flour to butter and stir for about 3 minutes. Slowly add half and half, stirring continuously. Add all spices and seasonings to sauce. Stir in chicken stock and keep stirring. Reduce heat and slowly stir in Parmesan cheese. Keep stirring until a smooth consistency is achieved. Pour sauce over chicken in casserole dish.
Cover and bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees F. While chicken is cooking, prepare fettuccine pasta. When chicken is done, serve immediately.

As other reviewers have indicated, use 1/2 lemon not 1/2 cup. The blend of spices was tasty however my sauce was too thick. Next time I would add chicken stock or wine and not rely on the stock produced when sauteing the chicken (as the recipe suggests).

I loved it, I only put a little bit of white wine with a little bit of lemon juice instead of so much lemon juice, and added more of the spices as best suited my taste, but overall thanks so much for this recipe it is really delicious, my husband loved the sauce!

All I could taste was lemon, I tasted the sauce before lemon, and it seemed good. I believe the user who said there was a typo in the recipe was correct. Next time I will use juice from 1/2 of a lemon.
this recipe is the perfect example of NOT proof reading.. it should say juice of 1/2 lemon... 1/2 cup is rediculous... i ruined tonights dinner.. i was tired and followed directions... next time 1/2 lemon..

This was great, just add a little less lemon juice. I will make it again.

Waaaaaay too lemony! I did as an earlier reviewer suggested (after trying the original recipe one time) and used 1/4 cup lemon juice and 1/4 cup chicken broth. This time is was perfect!

I deleted the lemon. I used it and enjoyed.

Taste was great except a little on the lemony side. Maybe substitue half of lemon juice with chicken broth and I added a litte more broth to make it less thick.
