ingredients
1 pound ground veal
1 pound ground turkey
1/2 pound French or sourdough bread made into crumbs
2 egg whites
1/2 cup skim milk
5 cloves garlic, minced
1 small onion, diced
2 ribs celery, diced
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
3/4 teaspoon nutmeg
3/4 teaspoon black pepper
GLAZE
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
directions
Preheat oven to 250 degrees F (generally, meat loaf recipes call for 350 degrees F but this one calls for 250 degrees F).
Combine meats, bread, egg whites, milk, garlic, onion, celery, salt, poultry seasoning, nutmeg and pepper in a large bowl. Process in batches in a food processor until mixture is very smooth.
Spray a 9- x 5- x 3-inch loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray and line with waxed paper. Press meat mixture into pan.
In a small bowl, combine honey, mustard and sesame seeds. Spread mixture over meat in pan. Bake for 1 1/2 hours or until no pink remains. Slice and serve.
