Slow Cooker Lentil Spinach Soup

Lentil Spinach Soup - CDKitchen.com

ingredients

1 package (16 ounce size) dried lentils, sorted and rinsed
1 package (10 ounce size) frozen chopped spinach
OR
10 ounces Swiss chard leaves, rinsed and chopped
1 can (8 ounce size) tomato sauce
2 potatoes, peeled and diced
2 onions, diced
2 carrots, peeled and diced
2 ribs celery plus leaves, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
8 teaspoons granulated chicken or vegetable bouillon
OR
8 cubes bouillon
1 bay leaf
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
2 sprigs fresh thyme
1 sprig fresh marjoram, chopped
1/4 cup fresh basil, minced
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon seasoned salt (or to taste)
1/2 teaspoon white pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

directions

Put all ingredients into a 5 qt. crock pot. Add water to within 1 inch from the top. Stir.

Cook on low for about 8 to 10 hours, or until the lentils and other vegetables are soft. Remove the sprigs of thyme, marjoram, and the bay leaf and discard.
