This iconic whiskey is a "Jack of all trades" when it comes to cooking. Toss it in some pasta, as a savory dipping sauce, and even bake it into something sweet.

Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
Not to be confused with evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk is very sweet (and very sticky) and used primarily in desserts.

A bit more work than most crock pot recipes with all the roasting but it is totally worth it because this soup is really wonderful.

Wonderfully delicious! Great on a cold day or anytime for that matter. The roasted tomatoes and onions are savory while the brown sugar brings in a hint of sweetness to cut the acidity of a tomato soup. Don't leave out the fresh basil, it adds a lot to the recipe. We will definitely be making this again.
