Not to be confused with evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk is very sweet (and very sticky) and used primarily in desserts.
Quick-Cook Basmati Rice
- add review
- #64549
ingredients
6 cups water
2 tablespoons butter, unsalted
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon white pepper, freshly ground (optional)
2 cups basmati rice
directions
Place the water, butter, salt, and pepper (if using) in a large, heavy pot and bring to a boil. Stir in the rice and return the water to a boil over high heat.
Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot tightly, and cook the rice until the grains are tender and all the water is absorbed, about 18 minutes. Remove the pot from the heat and let stand, covered, for 5 minutes.
Gently fluff the rice with a fork and serve immediately.

It may look like a sad little package shoved in the back of your freezer, but frozen spinach actually has a lot of culinary uses (and some may surprise you).
The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.

This recipe works great!! Thank-you. I'v always had problems cooking rice properly, but I think the 11 minute cooking time is the ticket!
