Easy Slow Cooker Fried Apples

ingredients
3 pounds Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 dash fresh grated nutmeg, optional
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons butter, cut in small pieces
directions
Place apple slices in the slow cooker/Crock Pot; stir in remaining ingredients and dot with the butter.
Cover and cook on low for about 6 hours, or until apples are tender but not mushy. Stir about halfway through cooking.

A simpler version of fried apples. It was a little sweeter than I like but overall I was happy with it.
