Pineapple ham is a sweet and salty staple. These ham slices are brushed with brown sugar and mustard before being finished with a pineapple syrup glaze.

4 slices (3/4-inch thick) ham
2/3 cup packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
1 can (1 pound, 4 ounce size) sliced pineapple, drained (reserve syrup)
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.
Place the ham on a rimmed baking sheet.
In a saucepan, combine the brown sugar, mustard, and 2/3rds cup of the reserved pineapple syrup. Mix well then brush over the ham slices.
Place the saucepan over medium heat and let simmer until thickened.
Meanwhile, place the ham in the oven and bake at 325 degrees F until just heated through. Top the ham with the pineapple slices and brush with the thickened syrup. Return to the oven for 5 minutes or until heated through.
Serve hot.
Optional: add a cherry to the center of each pineapple slice

Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
This iconic whiskey is a "Jack of all trades" when it comes to cooking. Toss it in some pasta, as a savory dipping sauce, and even bake it into something sweet.

Mmmm! Very good! The sugar and mustard keep the ham from tasting too salty too.
