Slow Cooker Turkey Tenderloin And Wild Rice

Sliced turkey tenderloin on top of a seasoned mixture of wild rice and veggies slow-cooked with chicken broth and sherry. Delicious!

ingredients

1/2 cup uncooked wild rice, rinsed
1/2 cup chopped carrot
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup thinly sliced celery
1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic pepper blend
1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram leaves
1 cup chicken broth
2 tablespoons dry sherry or dry white wine
1/2 pound turkey tenderloin, cut into 1/2-inch-thick slices

directions

In 1 1/2-quart slow cooker, mix rice, carrot, onion, celery, and half each of the seasoned salt, garlic-pepper blend and marjoram, and the broth and sherry.

Arrange turkey slices over rice mixture. Sprinkle with remaining seasoned salt, garlic-pepper blend and marjoram.

Cover; cook 5 to 6 hours (if slow cooker has heat settings, cook on low).

    • You can use a whole loin but you may need to adjust the cooking time.

    I doubled the recipe to serve four. Turned out pretty good. Might be good with a pork tenderloin too.

    Thank you for a real meal recipe meant for a small slow cooker! They are hard to find! I used turkey cutlets cut in strips. This was delioucious. I only cook for myself so I had a meal out of this and some leftovers for lunch the next day.
