Whip up these simple Italian sausage sandwiches on the stove top or in the crock pot.

2 pounds Italian sausage links
1 tablespoon oil
3 bell peppers, seeded and sliced thin
2 onion, sliced
1 dash garlic powder
salt and pepper, to taste
1 quart spaghetti sauce
6 Italian rolls
Cut the sausage into 3 to 4-inch sized pieces.
Heat the oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sausage and cook, stirring occasionally, until the sausages are browned on all sides. Remove the sausage with a slotted spoon and place in a large saucepan over low heat.
Drain all but 1 tablespoon of the grease from the skillet. Add the bell pepper and onion and cook, stirring frequently, until soft. Remove the vegetables with a slotted spoon and place in the saucepan.
Sprinkle the sausage and vegetables with the garlic powder, and salt and pepper as desired. Pour the spaghetti sauce over all. Let the sausage and vegetables simmer for 1 hour over low heat, stirring occasionally. Serve the sausage, vegetables, and sauce on Italian rolls.
You can also make this in the crock pot. Cook on low heat for 1-2 hours or until the sausage is cooked through.

Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
Beer makes batters better, meat more tender, and sauces more flavorful.
