Tired of plain ol' stir fries? Try this recipe that adds pasta to the dish along with other more traditional stir fry ingredients.
2 tablespoons vegetable or peanut oil
1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (or to taste)
1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
4 green onions, sliced thin
1/3 cup dry white wine
1 lemon, grated zest and juice
1/2 pound cooked pasta (such as rotini, gemelli, or penne)
2 teaspoons sesame oil
1 tablespoon sesame seeds, toasted
salt and pepper
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add ginger, garlic and red pepper flakes. Cook, stirring continuously, until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
Add shrimp and cook, stirring frequently, until shrimp are pink and cooked through, about 4-6 minutes. Add cilantro, green onions, wine and lemon zest. Stir to combine. Cook for 30 seconds, then add pasta, sesame oil, lemon juice and sesame seeds. Remove from heat and season to taste with salt and pepper.

This was a nice change of pace from some of the heavier, saucier pasta dishes. The ginger and red pepper flakes added a unique flavor combination. This is a recipe that I will make again, for sure.

Loved this! Filling dish but light flavor. I did add a little more crushed red pepper (but I love extra spicy food!). Overall I would say this is a well seasoned dish with lots of well balanced flavor. It's a quick dish too - I had the pasta cooking while I prepped the other ingredients. Overall it probably took 15 minutes total.
