French Apple Cobbler

ingredients
Filling
2/3 cup sugar
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
6 cups pared, cored and sliced apples
1/4 cup dark seedless raisins
1 1/2 teaspoon grated lemon peel
Topping
2/3 cup pancake mix
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/3 cup margarine, melted
Cheddar cheese
directions
For Filling: Sift sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir in apple, raisins, and lemon peel. Turn into 8-inch square baking dish.
For Topping: Combine pancake mix and brown sugar. Sprinkle over apple base. Drizzle with melted butter.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 45-50 minutes. Garnish with cheddar cheese.
