Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.

cook's notes
I made this for Thanksgiving and it was very good...however when I make it again I would use half the amount of cream cheese.

Love the spinach dip at restaurants like TGIFriday's and the Olive Garden? Make it at home with these easy-to-follow copycat recipes.
It may look like a sad little package shoved in the back of your freezer, but frozen spinach actually has a lot of culinary uses (and some may surprise you).

I make this same chicken-cheese ball all the time, the only difference is i use one 10 ounces of can of chicken with 2 cream cheese and 2 tbs. of mayo. I split it and make 2 chicken balls. if i want a smaller one I use 5oz can and 1 cream cheese, 1/2 envelope of ranch dressing mix, and 1 tbs mayo. I then roll it in the pecan. Everyone loves it.
