Vietnamese banana fritters are a delicious snack or dessert that is easy to make. Ripe bananas are battered and fried until golden brown, then served with honey or powdered sugar.

6 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup milk
5 small, firm bananas
peanut oil, for frying
Combine the flour, sugar, egg, and milk to form a batter. Let sit in the refrigerator for one hour.
Peel the bananas and slice each in half lengthwise then into 3-inch long pieces.
Heat oil in a skillet or deep fryer to 360 degrees F.
Dip each banana piece into the batter, coating completely and letting any excess drip off. Place in the hot oil and cook for 3-5 minutes or until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and let drain on paper toweling.
Serve drizzled with honey or powdered sugar, if desired.
