3 pounds bluefish fillets
1/4 cup white wine vinegar
1 Bermuda onion, sliced
1/4 teaspoon peppercorns
1/4 teaspoon allspice
1/2 cup sour cream

Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.

Thanks for this recipe! It was delicious. I had to add some salt, but other than that it was great. i was looking for a recipe for bluefish with sourcream because many yrs. ago my fish guy(who since retired) told me that's how he cooked bluefish, but I was so intimidated by this fish 'cause it's not so common in nyc that I never did it until now. It was a big hit!! Thamks!
