ingredients
2 pounds beef chuck roast, trimmed of fat, cut into 1/4" cubes
1 pound ground beef
1 pound boneless pork chops, cut into 1/4" cubes
2 large onions, coarsely chopped
1 large green bell pepper, coarsely chopped
5 round green chiles, chopped
5 jalapeno peppers, chopped
1 can (4 ounce size) chopped green chiles
1 can (16 ounce size) red kidney beans
1 can (16 ounce size) white kidney beans
1 can (16 ounce size) dark kidney beans
2 cans (16 ounce size) whole tomatoes
2 cans (16 ounce size) crushed tomatoes
1 can (13 ounce size) beef broth
1/2 cup chili sauce
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
3 tablespoons chili powder
2 tablespoons cayenne pepper
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon cumin powder
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon dried crushed oregano
1/3 teaspoon black pepper
1 bottle (12 ounce size) beer
directions
In a large skillet, brown beef with 1 Tbsp. veg. oil, set aside. Repeat for pork. Repeat for onions, bell pepper and garlic. Place browned mixtures in large pot together and mix. Add other ingredients, except beans, cover and simmer 2 to 3 hours until vegetables are soft. Add beans and simmer 30 minutes longer uncovered. Serve in bowls with grated cheddar or parmesan cheese on top.

I once went to a chili making contest. There were a lot of good entries and this one was the absolute best. The contest was in NJ, and to chef named this Jersey Devil Chili. Much more involved than most other recipes, but if you want the best chili possible, this is it.

i made this chili for mothers day... it was superb! mom loved it and so did the rest of the family. not to much of a kick but not to little just perfect! :)

"Absolutely the Best" is a gross understatement! This chili is phenomenal! The only problem I have is all my friends and family are always begging me to make it again. Thank you so much for making this recipe available.
