ingredients
2 1/2 pounds white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 small can evaporated milk, DILUTED IN
1 pint water
1/4 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 cups pecans
directions
Have wax paper ready to drop candy on. Mix white sugar, brown sugar, and diluted milk. Stir over low heat until sugar dissolves. Increase heat and cook rapidly, without stirring, to soft ball stage (240 degrees F).
Remove from heat; add butter, vanilla and pecans. Beat until creamy. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto wax paper, working quickly.
