Alphabet Fruit Salad
- add review
- #69758
over 5 hrs
ingredients
1 package (8 ounce size) alphabet pasta, cooked as directed
1 can (20 ounce size) crushed pineapple, drain and reserve the juice
1 can (11 ounce size) mandarin oranges, drain and reserve the juice
3/4 cup white sugar
2 eggs, beaten slightly
1 tablespoon flour
8 ounces Cool Whip, thawed
directions
Cook pasta and drain well.
Drain the fruit and set aside. To the reserved juices of the fruit, add the sugar, eggs and flour. Cook over low heat in a heavy saucepan until thickened, about 5-10 minutes. Pour over the cooked alphabet pasta, cover and chill overnight.
The next day or prior to serving, add the reserved fruit and the Cool Whip. Chill well.
This makes a very large salad and I can guarantee if you take it to a barbecue or picnic, you will be coming home with an empty dish.

It may look like a sad little package shoved in the back of your freezer, but frozen spinach actually has a lot of culinary uses (and some may surprise you).
