ingredients
1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1/2 pound unsalted butter, room temperature
1/2 cup sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
directions
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
Combine flour, baking soda and salt. Sift onto a large piece of wax paper and set aside.
Cream the brown sugar, butter and sugar in a 7 quart bowl, until very smooth. Add the eggs and combine until well incorporated. Add the vanilla and combine.
Add the sifted dry ingredients, followed by the chocolate chips. Combine until well mixed.
Transfer batter to nonstick 13" x 9" baking pan. Spread in even layer. Bake on center rack for 40 minutes until golden brown. Remove the pan and allow to cool at room temperature for 1 hour before cutting.
Cut into bars. Serve immediately or store in tightly sealed plastic container.
