This set up fine for me so I wonder if the kind of apple sauce makes a difference? We really loved this. SO tasty! Also, I didn't use sugar free jello or anything I wonder if that might cause problems? I did use fat free sour cream for the topping though because that was an easy place to save some calories.

I'm not sure what went wrong, but this did not set up, and we had a soupy salad for Christmas dinner! It seemed to be set up when I spread the topping on it, but when served, it spread out in a puddle on the plate. I took the left overs and put them in small containers and put them in the freezer so we can enjoy them that way. The flavor was good, but the presentation was terrible.

This recipe is a family favorite. It wouldn't be Christmas dinner without it. We serve the dressing on the side.
