Orange Teriyaki Sauce

- #3085

under 30 minutes
ingredients
1 cup good quality soy sauce
2 oranges, juice and zest
3 tablespoons brown sugar, or more to taste
1 pinch red pepper flakes
5 cloves garlic, crushed or finely chopped
1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh ginger root
OR
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1 thinly sliced yellow or white onion
1 tablespoon white sesame seeds
directions
Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over high heat; reduce heat and simmer until syrupy and reduced by half.
Remove from heat and stir in the sesame seeds. Allow to cool before using as a marinade and to brush on cooking meat/poultry/fish of your choice -- boil any sauce that's been used as a marinade for raw meat/poultry/fish before using it as a dipping sauce at the table or, better, set aside some sauce before you marinate specifically for that purpose.

Nutritional data has not been calculated yet.It may look like a sad little package shoved in the back of your freezer, but frozen spinach actually has a lot of culinary uses (and some may surprise you).
A can of cream of mushroom soup can be a real dinner saver. It works great in casseroles and can turn into a sauce or gravy in a pinch.
