Vanilla Nutmeg Coffee

ingredients
1 vanilla bean, coarsely chopped
1/2 cup coffee beans
OR
1/3 cup ground coffee
3/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 cinnamon sticks
6 cups water
directions
Place the chopped vanilla bean and coffee beans in a coffee grinder and grind.
Fill the filter basket of a coffee maker halfway with coffee, add the ground nutmeg, and pour in the rest of the coffee. If using pre-ground coffee, place it and the chopped vanilla bean in the basket.
Place the cinnamon sticks in the coffee pot and brew with water. After brewing, let stand (on the heating plate) for at least 5 minutes.
Remove the cinnamon sticks and serve.

I actually made this with coffee powder, vanilla extract and ground cinnamon instead, because I found myself in the kitchen looking at an empty box of coffee and no vanilla beans or cinnamon sticks. I also added just a little bit of coffee creamer and it was really wonderful. For 725 ml I used: 3 tsp coffee, 1 tsp vanilla and 1/2 tsp cinnamon.
