1 pound peeled and deveined shrimp
1 teaspoon coarse salt
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 cloves garlic, sliced thin or minced
1 dried hot red pepper, split in half
Pat the shrimp dry with paper toweling. Season the shrimp on all sides with the salt.
Heat the oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the garlic and hot pepper and cook, stirring constantly, for 30 seconds.
Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook, stirring constantly, for 2-5 minutes or until the shrimp are cooked.
Remove and discard the hot pepper and serve the shrimp hot.

Easily one of the best dinner party appetizers on the planet. Our local Mexican store has enormous wild shrimp that really sp[ up the garlic. I add rosemary and basil for flavoring and accompany with tomatoes cooked in the same sauce.
