Scalloped Potatoes With Sweet Marjoram And Parmesan Cheese

ingredients
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
1 tablespoon dried marjoram
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
4 large baking potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
2 cups whipping cream
1/2 cup water
fresh parsley sprigs, for garnish
directions
Combine first six ingredients in a small bowl. Set aside.
Layer 1/3 potatoes in a lightly greased 12" x 8" x 2" baking dish. Sprinkle half of seasoning mixture over potatoes. Repeat layers with potatoes and seasonings, ending with potatoes. Sprinkle with remaining Parmesan cheese.
Combine whipping cream and water, then pour over potatoes. Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees F for 1 1/2 hours.
Uncover and bake 30 minutes longer. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
