Cajun Oysters

ingredients
2 cans whole oysters
2 cups flour
4 teaspoons black pepper
2 teaspoons seasoned salt
1 teaspoon garlic
2 tablespoons paprika
2 teaspoons dried thyme
4 teaspoons crushed red pepper
1 cup shortening
directions
Combine all ingredients except oysters and shortening in a plastic bag. Mix well. Add the oysters to the bag and shake to completely coat with the seasoned flour mixture.
Melt the shortening in a heavy skillet over medium heat. Add the oysters when the shortening is hot and brown each side of the oysters. Remove them to paper toweling to drain. Let cool slightly then serve while still warm. You can serve with a dipping sauce if desired.
