French Cognac Vanilla

Baking enthusiasts, meet your new must-have ingredient: homemade vanilla extract made from French Cognac. The results are nothing short of delicious.

ingredients

1 bottle (750 ml size) French cognac
9 vanilla beans

directions

Slice the vanilla beans lengthwise and carefully split them open. Scrape the seeds into the cognac. Reseal the bottle.

Let the bottle sit in a cool, dark place for a minimum of 2 months. Several times a week, gently shake the bottle.

Strain the vanilla before using.
